Almost. 100 pages or more. A Love Story about two stupid teenagers who loved to…

He looked me up on Facebook and almost apologized fifty years afterward. For what? This remains unstated. He told me that we should both partner to write a book/movie. So now I am doing this.

He also said that he almost married me.

If the young rap star who followed me in his limousine in the mid 1990’s and told that African cab driver go-between that I was his mother is my son, then somebody stole my baby.  Television Reporter Deborah Roberts aired a story a while back about how several African American pregnant mothers babies were stolen and sold during the 1960’s.  I had a son in 1966 that I was told was still born just like many of these mothers.

Another issue is the boy I thought was my then son’s father likely was not I now concede. Because grown up this child did not look half white. I am black.

This white boy was not and is not a racist but implicit bias does have a role in our story. And he told me 50 years later that he himself was adopted.

Read Michael Eric Dyson’s new book: Tears We Can Not Stop A Sermon to White America to more fully understand the often more subtle nuisances’ of the unconscious stereotyped beliefs we ALL harbor that makes us respond to and treat certain people differently: blacks, women, gays, etc. I hope that this results in one of the most frank and searing discussions of race you have ever read.
